Bed bug treatment
Professional bed bug treatment for homes, landlords and businesses, with clear advice and a quotation before any work starts.

Bed bugs are small, flat insects that hide in mattress seams, bed frames, headboards and furniture and feed on blood at night. They travel easily in luggage and second-hand furniture, and an infestation has nothing to do with how clean a home is.
We start removing bed bugs on the first visit using a professional bed bug steamer. Steam at high temperature kills bed bugs and their eggs on contact, without leaving chemical residue on your mattress.
Signs to look out for
- Itchy bites, often in lines or clusters, on skin exposed during sleep
- Small blood spots on sheets or pillowcases
- Dark spotting along mattress seams and bed frames
- Live bugs, shed skins or tiny pale eggs in seams and joints
- A sweet, musty smell in heavy infestations
How we deal with it
Inspection
We confirm bed bugs and check beds, furniture, skirting boards and nearby rooms to see how far they have spread.
Steam treatment on the first visit
We steam mattresses, bed frames, headboards, sofas and other harbourage points to kill bugs and eggs on contact.
Residual treatment where suitable
We may apply a professional insecticide to cracks and voids that steam cannot reach. We will explain what we use and any re-entry time.
Follow-up visit
Bed bug eggs can survive in hidden places, so a follow-up visit is normally needed, usually around two weeks later.
Before we arrive, wash bedding and clothes from the affected room at 60°C or the hottest temperature the fabric allows and dry on a hot setting. Please do not move items to other rooms, as this can spread the bugs. We will send you full preparation guidance when you book.
Questions about bed bug treatment
Is steam treatment enough on its own?
Steam is very effective on contact, but bed bugs hide in places steam cannot reach. We combine it with a follow-up visit and, where suitable, a residual treatment.
Do I need to throw away my mattress?
Usually not. Most mattresses can be treated. We will advise if an item is too badly affected.
How soon can you come?
Call us and we will arrange the earliest visit we can. We aim to offer same-day or next-day visits where our diary allows.
