Terms and conditions
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all pest control services provided by Proofwell Pest Control Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17521689, registered office: 20 Cecil Avenue, Southampton, SO16 4GN. You can contact us on 07777 225050 or at info@proofwellpest.co.uk.
Please read these terms before booking. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
1. Quotations
We do not publish fixed prices because every pest problem is different. We will give you a quotation by phone, message, email or in writing after discussing the problem or inspecting the property. A quotation is valid for 30 days unless we state otherwise. If, once on site, we find the problem is materially different from what was described, we will explain this and agree any change with you before carrying out additional work.
2. Booking
Your booking is confirmed when we send you a booking confirmation.
3. Payment
Payment is due as set out in your quotation, normally after completion of the first visit. Where a treatment includes follow-up visits, the price quoted covers the visits stated in the quotation unless we agree otherwise. We accept payment by debit or credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay through a secure payment link. Prices include VAT where applicable.
For business customers, invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest and compensation on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer and the contract is made away from our premises, for example by phone, online or at your home, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. Full details are in our cancellation policy.
If you ask us to start work within the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, you will need to pay for the service provided up to the time you tell us you are cancelling. If the service has been fully performed at your express request within the cancellation period, you will lose the right to cancel.
5. Rearranging or cancelling an appointment
Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to rearrange or cancel an appointment. If you cancel with less notice, or we cannot gain access at the agreed time, we may charge a reasonable amount to reflect the costs we have incurred, such as travel and the time reserved for you.
6. What we will do
- Carry out our services with reasonable care and skill, using trained and qualified technicians.
- Use only products authorised for professional use in Great Britain, applied in line with the product label and relevant codes of practice.
- Explain the treatment, any safety precautions and any re-entry times before we start.
- Keep records of treatments carried out.
7. What we need from you
- Give us accurate information about the problem, the property and anyone living or working there, including children, pets and anyone vulnerable, so we can plan a safe treatment.
- Provide safe access to the areas to be treated at the agreed time.
- Follow any preparation and safety advice we give, including keeping children and pets away from treated areas and not disturbing bait stations.
- Tell us about any known hazards on site, such as asbestos, unsafe structures or aggressive animals.
8. Results
We will do everything reasonably possible to resolve your pest problem. However, results depend on factors outside our control, such as pests entering from neighbouring properties, hygiene and housekeeping, structural defects and whether our proofing and preparation advice is followed. We therefore cannot promise that pests will never return. If a problem persists after a treatment course, please contact us and we will discuss the next steps.
9. Bait stations and equipment
Bait stations, monitors and other equipment we place remain our property unless we sell them to you as part of the job. Please do not move or open them. We will remove them at the end of treatment unless agreed otherwise.
10. Our liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
For business customers, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with a job is limited to the price paid for that job, except where the law does not allow this.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us on 07777 225050 or at info@proofwellpest.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it fairly.
12. Personal information
We use your personal information as set out in our privacy policy.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live elsewhere in the UK, in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
