Hornet control
Professional hornet control for homes, landlords and businesses, with clear advice and a quotation before any work starts.
The native European hornet is larger than a common wasp and usually less aggressive, but a nest near a house, school or business can still need treatment.
The Asian hornet (yellow-legged hornet) is an invasive species that threatens honey bees. Suspected sightings in Great Britain should be reported so the authorities can find and destroy nests.
Signs to look out for
- Large brown and yellow hornets around a tree, loft or outbuilding
- A large papery nest in a hollow tree, roof void or shed
- Hornets attracted to lights at night
How we deal with it
Identification
We confirm whether you have European hornets, wasps or a possible Asian hornet.
Treatment
For European hornet nests that pose a risk, we treat the nest with a professional insecticide.
Asian hornet reporting
If we suspect an Asian hornet we will help you report it through the official Asian Hornet Watch app or the GB Non-native Species Secretariat.
Do not approach or disturb a suspected Asian hornet nest. Take a photo from a safe distance if you can and report it.
